Davydenko won the ATP Miami 2008 title

After 1 hour and 31 minutes Nikolay Davydenko won in 2 sets (6-4 6-2) The Sony Ericsson Tennis Open 2008 held in Miami - Florida (USA). The looser was the #2ATP Rafael Nadal. The Ukrainian born player, in age of 26 has never beat any of the first 3 ATP ranked player in his tennis career until today (April 06, 2008). In the whole match, Davydenko kept the Spanish player in “chess” with long and precise balls and he proved the German ambition (he left for Germany at the age of 15 until he reach 18 years of age). Again the Davydenko’s best shot was his backhand which near the back line with extreme angles. After this final, Davydenko won a check worth of US$ 560,000 and take the shadow up regarding the ATP investigation after the match played against Martin Vassallo Arguello in Sopot on (August 02, 2007) when several large bets were placed at an online British sports betting company, Betfair in Arguello’s favor after Davydenko had won the first set 6–2. Although the public was with heart near Nadal, the Spanish tennis player played at his average level and showed nothing spectacular. In the following weeks he will definitely show us the other side of tennis, because the clay tournaments will begin.
